GIRLS JUST WANNA HAVE FUN!!
Once again, I must apologize for not getting the newsletter out to you in a timely fashion. I was on the road home from Cleveland, where we enjoyed a fabulous weekend of parties and concerts. We are privileged to not only meet and talk with, but also see the following perform, both separately and together as the weekend wore on:
Curt Smith (Tears for Fears)
Mavis Staples (The Staple Singers)
Darlene Love (The Crystals)
Ronnie Spector (the Ronettes)
The final song of the night had Cyndi Lauper, Mavis Staples, Darlene Love and Ronnie Spector all on the stage singing, "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!"
I thought it appropriate as I related to her our effort to put together our upcoming reunion. She thought it was a great idea and said that if she were anywhere close, she would try to make an appearance. Those words conjured up the lyrics from the famous Harry Chapin song, Taxi - where he says, "She said we'd have to get together, but I knew it'd never be arranged..." Regardless, we had some great conversation and an even better weekend of music and fun!!
I found out at the end of the weekend that my trip to Cleveland in the fall will include some face time with the Queen of Soul herself, Aretha Franklin, and also Dennis Edwards, one of the last remaining Temptations! I am REALLY looking forward to that!!
On to the business of the week...
Website Activity and Ticket Purchases
Activity on the website and ticket sales have been amazing this past week!
Among those who have purchased their tickets are Ron Kingham, Rick Starks, Glenn Clarke, Jerry Prevett, Mike Walker, Lisa Foster, Doug McGarvey, Peter McGarvey and Mary Stuart! There were many others, but these are the ones who popped into mind while I was writing this.
Mary Stuart Bought Her Ticket!
Mary Stuart wants it to be known that she has purchased her tickets and want to encourage all of her friends to do the same. She tells me that she expects at least a couple of her friends to follow suit very soon after seeing the check mark beside her name. This confirms my point about people waiting and watching to see who is buying their tickets...if you want your friends to come to the reunion, buy your tickets today and let it be known that you did! Once your friends see that you are coming, they will jump on board too and get their tickets!!
Ticket sales close in less than seven weeks, and that will go by quickly - so make your move now!
More Website Registrations!
People have been working very hard to locate people and among others, we have had the following people register on the website at www.Tecumsehreunion.com:
Wendy Van Bilsen
People are really stepping up the effort, and this reunion is really shaping up to be a spectacular event. Don't Be left in the cold - GET YOUR TICKETS TODAY!!
Photos - Photos - Photos
Many new photos have been posted on the website at www.Tecumsehreunion.com. Be sure to check them out. We are less than half a dozen class photos years away from completing the posting of all class photos!! Many new candids are being added regularly, and in fact, at least 10 - 15 pages of yearbook and other candid photos have been added to the website. Check it out!!
Facebook Group Activity
Our Facebook group page has been doing very well, and in my absence, Dan Foster and Sue Cummings have done a great job of keeping the banter going with trivia and discussion items, and I noticed this week that Joyce Challis (Ward) has been busy posting some great music videos for all to enjoy.
Donations are Coming In!!
We have had a number of donations to our fundraising cause and we thank all for those donations. We have also sold a considerable amount of advertizing in our program. If you would like participate in the production of our program and advertize in the booklet (and on our website) please contact Chris@Tecumsehreunion.com and he will give you the details on how you can get involved.

Please help us to find these people!
Things are Looking Great!
Overall, activity and interest in the reunion has picked up just as it was expected in the last couple of months before the reunion. Don't forget that ticket sales officially close on June 30, so don't forget to get your tickets. They can be purchased at www.Tecumsehreunion.com/tickets.htm and there is a drop-down menu to allow you to personalize your ticket package!
This week's trivia Superstars were (once again) Debbie Vellinga with 9 out of 10 and right behind her was Brian (Mr. Google) Irving with 8 out of 10. He insists that the questions were wrong and he was right on all 10, however a review of the questions shows that the questions are correct. Keep trying!
The answers to last week's Trivia Challenge were as follows:
All the best,
