Tecumseh SS Reunion – Committee Meeting Minutes

Date: Saturday January 8, 2011

Attended by: Scott Primeau (chair), Dan Foster, Mike Alexander, Tom O’Brien, Pat Oliphant, Tony McPhail (Owner of Players Club), John Talbot, Sue Cummings, Chris Foster, Cheri Emrich, Sue Eagleson

Issues:

·         EMS for basketball or other sports

·         Insurance for school use

·         Golf tournament suggested by John Talbot – no decision made on this yet

·         Attendance commitment – assume people may wait till last minute to book tickets, need to get earlier numbers

·         Weather – need some indoor venues

·         Awareness / Contacts – don’t have contact info for all grads, need to get the word around

Decisions:

·         Reunion Dates: Thursday – Saturday July 21-23, 2011

·         Budget attendance: estimate 500 +/- 250 partners/spouses

·         Seed capital: Committee members to ante up ticket money ASAP (send to Sue Cummings)

·         Activities Roster: (so far)

o        Thursday:

§         Early registration, informal mix & mingle at Tecumseh or Player’s Club (front meeting room), 5 pm setup, 6 pm registration opens, may have a band available at the Club that evening (no cost to us)

o        Friday:

§         Main Registration – Tecumseh 9 am – 5 pm, with displays and school tours available, maybe a T-dance in gym at noon? (school rental to be determined)

§         Evening Registration & Reception - Capital Theatre, start 6:30 pm (Capitol Theatre rental - $2300)

·         Movie(s), cash bars etc?

o        Saturday: Daytime (we provide water, pop, munchies during the day)

§         Registration & guided tours of Tecumseh continue (9 am – 4 pm)

§         Basketball tourney - Tecumseh

§         Beach Volleyball – Player’s Club

o        Saturday: Evening

§         Dinner Dance @ Kinsmen Auditorium (Kinsmen Auditorium approx $1000 plus insurance -$300, catering - $25 - $30 per person and bar services)

§         Silent auction & door prizes - donations needed (proceeds to charity?)

Ticket Pricing: see website, no use re-creating it in these minutes.

·         Need help scanning pictures (Mike Alexander can help)

·         Need 70’s trivia for the trivia contest

·         Need a primary contact for each graduating year. Volunteers so far:
